Men’s Soccer
September 23: Northeastern 0, Harvard 0
A tag-team effort from Tobias Jahn and Christoph Schurz prevented a potential Harvard goal in the 28th minute. The sequence proved crucial:
Each side would only muster one shot on goal for the rest of the game, as it ended in a 0-0 draw.
September 27: Northeastern 0, Stony Brook 2
The Huskies fell behind early, and then they made their challenger tougher with a red card in the closing minute of the first half.
Despite playing 10-on-11 for the entire second half, Northeastern managed to out-shoot Stony Brook by a margin of 8-5. However, they failed to find the back of the net, and the Seawolves tacked on another to put the match out of reach.
Field Hockey
September 26: Northeastern 1, Towson 2
The Huskies opened conference play with a hotly-contested match that hung in the balance until the final minutes of play.
Emilia Adragna converted on a penalty stroke in the second period to even the score at one apiece.
The score would remain until late in the the fourth period, when a Towson goal broke the tie for good.
Volleyball
September 26: Northeastern 1, Towson 3
In a match that was much closer than the final score may suggest, the Huskies came up short as their struggles in late-set situations continued.
September 27: Northeastern 2, Towson 3
With many of the themes of the first match between these two teams, Northeastern took a 2-1 lead but failed to put away. This included a 6-2 lead in the final set, before the tides turned for the worse and the Tigers were able to capture the win.
Women’s Hockey
September 27: Northeastern 6, Concordia 0 (Exhibition)
The Huskies looked primed for the regular season in an impressive thumping of the Concordia Stingers.
A well-balanced attack featured at least one goal scored in each period, and a trio of goaltenders stopped all 26 shots on goal.
Of particular note was freshman Stryker Zablocki’s two-goal performance. Zablocki’s offensive prowess will be a welcome addition to replace the production of top goal scorer Skylar Irving from a season ago.
Women’s Soccer
September 28: Northeastern 0, Drexel 0
The Huskies played to a scoreless draw against the Drexel Dragons, in a match that only featured 7 total shots on goal.
With her first shutout of the season, Eliza Teplow took home CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors.
